Every one I know has a love hate relationship with their PC and we also hate it when they go wrong. In most cases however most of us are absolutely stuck when when the computer demon strikes and this is where online computer repair companies come in handy as they are able to fix all manner of Laptop gremlins with your computer system either by providing phone support via a phone service or through the computer than itself.
Whilst you may bnever have come across it before remote desktop support is quite common and that its irrevelant if you’re a private business and have a network or a roomful of PCs or laptops, or whether you are a private home user, it’s never convenient to unplug your computer and drag it to a computer repair place in your town if you don’t need to.
Of course its very understandable that you may have more than a few questions to ask before trusting remote access to your Pc.
First of all, remote computer support is extremely easy to use. The company that you contact will guide you through the process until the technician is able to access your computer. Once they have access, you can sit back and watch.
Most companies are not going to charge anything for running the initial diagnostic. You will be charged though if you want them to fix the issue. They will provide you with the total cost of the repair before hand.
Like most businesses, you have the option of paying for the services several different ways. The most commonly accepted form of payment is a credit card. If the company accepts Paypal, you can use your credit card or bank information to pay the fees.
Why should I choose remote support over the other method? By opting to use remote support services you save time and money on travel and gas.
All companies that are reputable are going to guarantee their work. It may be offered in the form of a refund or they might continue to try to fix the problem.
Will you be able to access my computer without my permission? With some companies, the buyer will be able to select an option for allowing the company access to perform maintenance or repairs at a later date. You as the buyer have to pre-approve this option. If you do not select it, they will not be able to connect to your computer after the session is over.
How do these services work? The technician gains control of your computer, including your keyboard and mouse, when the session commences. While the session is going you can watch everything step they take.
Will the information on my computer be compromised? In all honesty, you risk losing your data by not properly maintaining your computer. There is no risk involved when using these services.
Can the service techs view the files on my computer? Yes they can. This is not permitted and if that is something you are worried about, you can watch the entire process from your computer.
As with any repair service, you should research the companies before deciding on one. You definitely only want to deal with companies that employ certified technicians.
If you are wanting more than one computer repaired, chances are, the business may offer you a discount. The amount of the discount will depend on the number of computers and what you want done.
What are the software requirements? Technicians can often work on computers that use dial up but it is easier working on those with high speed internet. Make sure your internet is working. Many require that Windows 2000 or newer be intalled.
What is the normal repair time? The amount of time needed will depend on the problem. If you have a virus or spyware issue, those can normally be solved within a few hours or less. If it is merely a preventative maintenance session, it may take more time.
It may be necessary to have a technician physically look at your computer. In this instance, the company may have someone in your area who can do this.

And I thought Woodpecker was another introduction in the Browser world.

But mind you, it’s a pretty impressive name for a browser after Firefox of course.
What do you say guys? A name does matter, right? Let’s talk, your turn now…

We’ve all sent emails we regret after stumbling back home late at night in a fog of alcohol-fuelled bravado - a pathetic plea for reconciliation with an old flame, forwarding furry porn to your grandma, or accepting job offers to work at Metro. The sign of an ill-advised night is no longer a traffic cone on your oven the next morning, but something titled ‘IVE WANTD TO SAY THIS FOR A LONG TIEM JEREMY’ lurking guiltily in your Sent Mail folder.
If only there was some kind of drunkenness detector that could stop you from baring your virtual soul to loved ones and authority figures after a night on the funny juice. Well, now there is.
Google have just unveiled a feature for Gmail called Mail Goggles. It allows you to specify times and days when you fear you might be a bit tipsy (say, after 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays) - and if you try to send an email after that, it’ll force you to take a sobriety test.
If you’re not of sufficiently sound mind to complete some basic arithmetic puzzles……then you’re also not in any fit state to be emailing anybody. Read the rest of this entry »
